38th International Geological Congress

The European Federation of Geologists is pleased to support the 38th International Geological Congress (IGC 2028), to be held in Calgary, Canada, from 12 to 20 August 2028.

 

Held every four years, the IGC is one of the world’s largest gatherings of geoscientists, bringing together experts from across academia, industry, and policy. Under the theme “Geosciences for Humanity,” the 2028 edition will address key global challenges, including climate change, natural hazards, sustainable energy, and critical minerals, while fostering collaboration across disciplines and with Indigenous communities.

 

The call for contributions is now open. Submit your session proposal through the official portal, selecting the theme group and topic that best match your proposal:
